A Waterfront Retreat in Sandwich, MA: Seamless Maintenance Meets Seasonal Beauty

Nestled within a quiet Cape Cod’s neighborhood, this refined outdoor space was designed as an extension of the home’s interior elegance – a seamless blend of structure, comfort, and coastal charm.

Set along the peaceful shores of Lawrence Pond in Sandwich, this Cape Cod estate embodies refined outdoor living. With layered gardens, curated enhancements, and an impeccably maintained lawn, the property is a showcase of what CMS Landscape does best – discreetly preserving and elevating natural beauty through thoughtful, high-touch care.

Though certain hardscape elements, such as the pergola and its adjacent patio, predate our involvement, CMS Landscape was brought in to elevate the entire landscape experience. Today, we provide full-service maintenance that blends state-of-the-art technology with horticultural artistry that ensures the estate remains vibrant, functional, and effortlessly elegant in every season.

Modern Maintenance with a Light Touch

At CMS, estate maintenance is never one-size-fits-all. For this Sandwich property, we deploy robotic mowers as part of a quiet, consistent turf care strategy. These autonomous units allow for precise, efficient mowing that keeps the lawn immaculate – without the disruption of traditional equipment. The result is a seamless blend of innovation and stewardship, ideal for waterfront environments where serenity is essential.

Each week, our teams complement this technology with hands-on expertise – from garden grooming and soil checks to ornamental pruning and turf monitoring. It’s an approach designed not just to maintain, but to anticipate and enhance.

Seasonal Plantings and Garden Refinement

Seasonal color plays a leading role in the landscape’s evolving beauty. Our team regularly refreshes container plantings and bed compositions to reflect the rhythms of the Cape – early spring bulbs, vibrant summer annuals, rich fall textures, and winter evergreens with architectural interest.

But it’s more than just color. We continually assess the property’s gardens for opportunities to refine, enhance, and expand. Whether it’s incorporating native pollinators, rebalancing perennial groupings, or adding depth to foundation beds, our enhancements are driven by both aesthetics and ecological understanding.

Patios with Purpose

While the original pergola and accompanying patio were not installed by CMS, our team designed and constructed two new hardscape areas that complement the existing elements with natural cohesion. These patios serve as elegant transitions between garden rooms – ideal for entertaining, relaxing, or simply enjoying the pond view in quiet privacy.

Each installation uses materials selected for their coastal durability and visual harmony with the broader site. Edged with subtle plantings and integrated lighting, the patios now feel native to the space – adding function without disrupting flow.

A Personalized Partnership, Year-Round

This Sandwich property is more than a weekend escape – it’s a living estate, tended weekly with intention and care. With CMS Landscape overseeing every detail, the homeowners enjoy a worry-free experience, knowing their gardens are thriving, their lawn is pristine, and their property is always ready to enjoy.

This project exemplifies how CMS blends timeless craftsmanship with modern estate management.
